It's alive! 

According to the 2005 Perl Monger census[0] we still exist, so I wondered if 
anyone would like to partake of some beer.  If no-one suggests a sensible 
evening and vaguely city-centre pub within a week, you'll get stuck with my 
choice.  Additionally, Birmingham.pm[1], with their brand-spanking new 
website, are threatening to come and invade sometime.  We can't let those 
brummies drink us under the table ;P 

In perl-related excitement, as part of my recently-promoted duties, today I 
got to parse large bits of PubMed[2] and battle with Spreadsheet::Excel.
